Germany, France and Argentina lose their games

After a day with many World Cup Warm-ups, some favorite teams have been defeated in the score and in their pride. Germany was crushed by Italy 4-1 and the result is very negative for the host nation. Ever-optimistic German coach Juergen Klinsmann is not deterred by the stunning loss. In fact, he says he'll make no roster changes for the next match - a World Cup tuneup against the United States later this month.

In other surprising result, Croatia beated Argentina 3-2. Midfielder Dario Simic scored a header in injury time for this result. Lione Messi was the most brilliant player in the Southamerican team, but it wasn't enough.

In Saint-Denis, Jozef Valachovic scored in the 80th minute for the Slovakia win over France 2-1. Les Bleus manager Raymond Domenech got his first defeat in 18 games.

In Liverpool, a hard Uruguay scored the first goal against England. But the British team level with a header by Peter Crouch and won with Joe Cole's last-minute goal.
